Tim has acted as an investment manager, managing investments for clients for over 15 years, principally in the technology, consumer and property sectors.
Following degrees at London University and Magdalene College, Cambridge, Tim qualified as a Chartered Surveyor before embarking on a wide-ranging business career both in the United Kingdom and abroad being nominated for Ernst & Young's "Entrepreneur of the Year" award in 1999.
Allan Rowley Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rowley most recently served as Finance Director of both Medicsight plc and Medicexchange.com. Prior to joining the Company in April 2006, Mr. Rowley served in a corporate development role at ComMedica Limited, a United Kingdom based medical software company specializing in Picture Archiving & Communication System ("PACS") software. In this role he worked on financing and acquisition opportunities and on commercial proposals with the sales and finance group. Before joining ComMedica, Mr. Rowley was revenue controller and a director of European Finance at Bea Systems, a NASDAQ-listed US-based software company. Mr. Rowley has several years of experience in public accounting in the United Kingdom and United States with Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, respectively.
He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Master of Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science degree from Aberystwyth University College of Wales.
L. Peter Fielding, M.D., FACS, FRCS Independent Director
L. Peter Fielding, M.D. is an experienced physician executive who has provided consulting services to healthcare and academic organizations over the last 20 years, in addition to his departmental and institutional responsibilities. (Consultancy activities in the U.S.A. include: National Cancer Institute; American Joint Committee on Cancer; Taiko Post University Connecticut; Purely Cotton Inc. Seattle; Musculoskeletal Systems Inc. - Pittsburgh; University of Connecticut Medical School. Dr. Fielding's background in academic medical centers and community teaching hospitals provides a broad base for his experience in institutional requirements of strategic planning, systems development, performance improvement and operations in the healthcare arena. In the last decade, he has focused on healthcare strategic planning, organizational structure and operational issues. In this capacity, Dr. Fielding has been instrumental in the development of new services from concept to implementation. Dr. Fielding is a sought after speaker and is well published in a variety of topics. His principal clinical research activities have been into the surgical management of colorectal cancer, its pathological classification (in collaboration with the American Joint Committee on Cancer and the College of American Pathologists) and in Colorectal Cancer Screening. He had national competitive funding as principal investigator through the Cancer Research Campaign in the UK for some of these activities. In addition, Dr. Fielding has undertaken laboratory surgical research, medical and surgical performance improvement activities and has reported on healthcare culture and systems. Dr. Fielding received his medical degree from the University of London (with Honors) and Advanced Surgical Training recognition in Gastrointestinal surgery by the Royal College of Surgeons in England. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has been involved in healthcare leadership and development for more than 25 years. He holds or has held senior academic appointments in the role of Clinical Professor of Surgery at Yale University, Rochester University, University of Pennsylvania and Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Allan Miller, MBBS, MRCP, FRCP, FFPM Independent Director
Dr Miller qualified in medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London in 1961. In 1965 he was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians.
After spending 8 years in General Practice he was appointed as a Medical Adviser to international pharmaceutical company, Hoffman La Roche. He oversaw the clinical research program for both Isotretinoin and Etretinate and its successor Acitretin. Each of these products were registered worldwide and granted marketing authorization.
In 1984 he joined a US privately owned pharmaceutical group, Purdue Pharma, Mundipharma in Europe and Napp Pharma as Medical Director. Dr Miller established the clinical programmes for controlled release tablets, which quickly saw the establishment of the controlled release morphine products ensuring his group's early success, which led to the creation of a number of companies worldwide. This new palliative process pioneered by Dr Miller's team some 20 years ago has now grown all over the world.
Dr Miller spent 14 years as Medical Director for Napp Pharmaceuticals Ltd and 4 years as European Medical Research Director of the Purdue Pharma, Mundipharma, Napp group based in Cambridge, England.
Dr Miller is a Member of the British Medical Association and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
Sir Christopher Paine, DM, MSC, FRCP, FRCR Independent Director
Sir Christopher was the President of the British Medical Association until 2001. He was Medical Director of the Advisory Committee on Distinction Awards for the National Health Service until the end of 1999 and has been President of the Royal College of Radiologists and The Royal Society of Medicine.
Sir Christopher is a Medical Oncologist by speciality, having qualified in 1961. His distinguished medical career has been based in Oxfordshire having been a consultant clinical oncologist from 1970 at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford, and he also served as director of clinical studies at the medical school.
He was district general manager of the Oxford Health Authority from 1984-88. In addition, he has served on the Animal Welfare Council and Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
Peter C. Venton, OBE, BSC, CEng Independent Director
Peter has over 30 years' experience in the computing and telecommunications industry and holds several patents in the sector. He is a former Chief Executive of Plessey Radar and of GEC-Marconi Prime Contracts.
He has established several international joint-venture companies, led the acquisition of Ferranti Naval Systems and VSEL and established the multi-disciplinary team that won a £4.5 billion prime naval contract.
Peter currently serves as the Technical Audit Chairman for the Defence Evaluation & Research Agency and joined the Board of Medicsight PLC in November 2001.
Neal Wyman Independent Director
Neal Wyman trained as a chartered accountant (ACA) with Coopers and Lybrand before moving to KPMG where he worked in the Far East. He moved into the recruitment industry in London specialising in financial services, gaining experience with a diverse range of clients.
He entered executive search in 1981, initially specialising in the financial services industry before broadening into general appointments and professional services.
He now focuses on general management, finance and non-executive appointments in both private and quoted companies, with particular focus on venture capital. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics.
